ECORCE TCAD Examples

Explore ECORCE TCAD simulations: diode & N-MOS modeling, radiation effects, TID, and dynamic mesh simulations. Practical examples for beginners can be found below, explaining these features and simulations in detail.

ECORCE TCAD offers a wide range of practical simulation examples for beginners and advanced users. These include diode I–V characterization, N-MOSFET modeling under radiation, and total ionizing dose (TID) effects showing shifts in device characteristics after irradiation and annealing. ECORCE also integrates Geant4 particle profiles, allowing easy ion definition and simulation of nuclear reactions, while its dynamic meshing adapts to changes in potential and carrier densities. Core physical equations, including Poisson, heat, carrier transport, and trapping–untrapping, are modeled in 1D and 2D. Beginners can explore N-MOS transistor threshold voltage, OFF current, and transconductance, as well as visualize dose-rate effects on 20 nm N-MOSFETs, demonstrating ECORCE’s power for radiation-aware semiconductor design.
